President

I would like to submit my name for consideration for President of the Western Psychology Association for the 2006-2007 academic year. I believe strongly in the WPA’s power to bring classmates together for mutual benefit, to create friendships, to provide much needed information in formal and informal situations, and to generally promote the benefits of psychology within our faculty, school and community. Through our committees and our events, we are able to involve students at all stages of their careers here at Western, and are able to contribute through volunteerism to the mental health field in London. I hope to continue on with this tradition and build upon it in the next year, drawing on my experience as vice president, volunteer coordinator and first year representative on the executive. I hope to have your support in making this next year enlightening, entertaining and exciting!

Nadil Zeiadin
Social Coordinator

Hi, my name is Nadil Zeiadin and I would like to nominate myself for the VP Social position. I think I would be an excellent candidate for the VP Social position because I know fist-hand what the position requires and because I am motivated to work hard in order to fulfill its duties. I was on the social committee this year, which allowed me to experience the range of social activities that the WPA offers to its members. Furthermore, while on the social committee I helped organize many of the events that the WPA held this year, which familiarized me with the responsibilities of organizing such events. As well, I helped put together the WPA Winter Newsletter along with the Social Coordinator and have discussed some of the details of the VP Social position with the current Social Coordinator. In conclusion, I think I am the best candidate for this position because my commitment toward getting to know the qualities of a good VP Social as well as my commitment for earning experience in some of the duties of a VP Social shows that I am dedicated not only to the position but also to the WPA.

Kimberly Lindahl
Volunteer Coordinator

My name is Kimberly Lindahl and I am currently enrolled in my second year of psychology at Western. I have a great passion for psychology, and I firmly believe in what psychology students at Western can accomplish through volunteer efforts.
I am interested in the Volunteer Coordinator position within the WPA because of what I believe I can bring to this role. My career aspirations center around social change within a psychological perspective (targeting individual problems on a grand scale to improve our communities, countries, and our world), and I am certainly ready for the challenges and responsibilities which accompany this role.
I have seen the impact of volunteering efforts on a community through previous endeavors with Western, and I can truly say that I am thoroughly dedicated to continuing this trend, but this time hopefully within a more specific psychological spectrum as the Western Psychology Association’s Volunteer Coordinator.

Michelle Fung
VP Finance

Hi everyone! My name is Michelle and I would like to nominate myself for the position of VP Finance. My experience as the first year rep for the WPA this year has been awesome!! Entering first year of university was without a doubt, a BIG change, but getting involved with the WPA has given me the opportunity to meet a lot of people with similar interests. Being on the exec this year has definitely helped me build on leadership skills, organizing events, and expanded my network of contacts not only within the psychology department but throughout campus. I would love the opportunity to continue being a part of the WPA exec. Taking on a new position on the exec will be yet another change, but it is one that I am more than willing to challenge. Chloe Hamza
VP Marketing and Communications (External)

My name is Chloe Hamza and I am running for the position of VP Marketing and Communications External. I am currently in second year Honors Psychology at Kings, and I have been a member of the Western Psychology Association for the past 2 years. Last year I acted as first year rep, and participated on the WPA social and volunteer committees. At the end of last year, the Western Psychology Association introduced a new position-VP Marketing and Communications External- which I have had the privilege of occupying since September. As VP Marketing External, I have spent most of this year developing relationships with representatives from the affiliates (such as supportive profs), as well as trying to increase membership from the affiliated colleges. I have enjoyed my role as VP marketing External so much, that I have decided to run for this position again. I am hopeful that next year I can build on this year’s successes, and further expand the Western Psychology Association across all of Western. Thank you for your support!

Adam Guzzo
VP Marketing and Communications (Information Technologist)

My name is Adam Guzzo and I'm running for VP Marketing and Communications Information Technologist. I've been on the WPA for two years, first starting on the Social and Volunteer committees and later moving on to VP Internal Marketing.
I would make the best Information Technologist because I have experience with web design, databases, mailing lists, and forum management, as well as a number of other computer skills necessary for the position. I've spent the past year ensuring that all WPA members are kept up to date and informed about all WPA events, and am hoping to have this honour next year as well. Thank you!
