My name is Kabir Daljeet and I am your 2010/2011 WPA President. I'm a Third year student pursuing a double major in Honours Psychology and Socio-Cultural Anthropology. I’ve been a member of the exec for two years now as both the First-Year Representative and the Vice President and I can without a doubt say that joining the WPA was hands down the single best social and academic decision I have made since coming to Western. This club has provided me with a great way to meet people and learn about new and exciting opportunities that have been relevant to me as a psychology student and it is my mission to ensure that this club is able to provide YOU with the very same opportunities. I greatly look forward to meeting each and every one of you at our events this year! | Erica Giammarco - Vice President | Hi everyone! I’m Erica and I am very excited to be your Vice-President for the 2010-2011 school year. I’m currently in my 3rd year of an honours specialization in psychology, with plans to attend grad school. The exec has been busy preparing for the upcoming year, and our goal this year is to improve the club so that members get the experience they want. Throughout the year we will be hosting numerous events that are both fun and academically informative. The WPA is a great way to meet others in psychology, while learning more about the discipline we all love. If throughout the year you ever have any questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions, feel free to email me or drop by the psychology resource centre. I look forward to meeting everyone this year! | | Deanna Visconti - Volunteer Coordinator | Hey everyone,
My name is Deanna Visconti. I am a fourth year student at Western working towards completion of a Psychology Honors Specialization, Bachelor of Arts Degree. My position on the Western Psychology Association is volunteer coordinator. Posted on this website you will find numerous volunteer opportunities here at Western as well as within the London community. These opportunities will be updated as new spaces and positions become available at various psychology-related facilities. As a fourth year student who has learnt from her experience (or shall I say ‘lack of experience’) volunteering is one of the easiest and most effective ways to get involved in the world of psychology as well as build a resume and gain knowledge about future career opportunities. It is also an incredible way to experience psychology in ways many part-time or summer jobs wouldn’t allow you to and on a very convenient and flexible schedule. I would highly recommend that if you haven’t yet taken part in any sort of volunteer positions relating to psychology, you begin now! Feel free to email me anytime with any questions or concerns regarding volunteer positions at dviscon3@uwo.ca.
I wish all of you the best of luck in your programs, and look forward to meeting you all at clubs week! | Kate Barnes - Social Coordinator | Hey, I'm Kate Barnes and I'm the VP Social for the Psychology Association this year.
My position entails planning social events for the club, attending executive meetings, and helping out wherever I can. Last year I was one of the first year representatives, and I can't tell you how excited I am to be back on the executive team this year! I'm going into my 2nd year in an Honours Specialization in Psychology, as well as completing a certificate in Spanish, and I also work around the Western Campus. Whether you're a psychology major or just have a special interest in the scientific study of human behaviour, I hope you'll find the Psychology Association as awesome and informative as I did! I look forward to meeting you all. | | David Kim - VP Finance | Hi, my name is Dave Kim. I am a 5th year student (Yep, the good ol’ victory lap, haha). I am the VP Finance, and I’ll be dealing with the financial issues in the club. | Jenna Smith - VP External Marketing | My name is Jenna Smith and I am this year's VP External! I am a second year student in the Psychology program directing my attention towards Educational Psychology. Last year I was a First Year Rep for the WPA. I represented the first year Psychology community ensuring that they were notified about our events. I also participated in the club by organizing resources for our members and aiding the other executive members with planning events, in particular our charity event. This year, I will focus on communicating with our affiliate colleges and marketing related tasks for clubs week and for our events throughout the year. Our executive team is awesome and i'm so excited to start another great year with the WPA! | | Hannah Uzelac - VP Internal Marketing | Hey everyone! I'm back for my final year in Psych as VP Communications for the WPA. I'm beyond excited to be able to continue my involvement with such a great organization. We have lots in store for this year, and I can't wait to get to it! I look forward to meeting our new members and reconciling with previous ones. I wish everyone a great year! | Leita Saysombath - First-Year Representative
 | My name is Leita Saysombath, and I am a first year representative for the Western Psychology Association.I am excited to be part of the team! I have many interests and share much love for the human brain also, I have to mention that cats rock and my passion for food exceeds me. My goal is to never stop learning and to always gain from experience. I am excited to explore the club in all of its form and the adventures it has to offer. This year shall be quite legendary I predict. |
Aidan Bell - First-Year Representative
 | Salutations! As you can tell from the header above, I’m a first year representative for the WPA. I’m incredibly excited to be able to help out with the club and all the events we have planned. Fittingly enough, I’m in first year, and you may recognize me if you’re in Psych with Mike. If you haven’t seen me in the class, say hi – otherwise I hope to see everyone at the events organized by the WPA. To prove the legitimacy of my being in first year, turn your eyes towards my picture – not only is this a dorm room, it is sparsely furnished, awkwardly placed poster and all. At any rate, I look forward to a rosy year! | |
