This is just some general information that was discussed at the meeting on September 30th in case you couldn’t make it, or just want a refresher.
Getting Involved
First Year Rep:
- Any first year psychology students who want to be part of the WPA exec can apply.
- Please send your nominations, along with a 100 word blurb about yourself and why you want this position to wpaexec@westernpsych.net by this Sunday, October 5th!
- A few candidates will then be selected to come to our weekly meeting on Wednesday at 10:30 and a decision will be made after that.
- Note: that those who already expressed interest and signed up should still send us their nomination and blurb by Sunday
- Note: that this is our regular meeting time, so anyone interested must be free every week at this time
Volunteer Committee:
- If more people are interested in joining the volunteer committee, e-mail wpaexec@westernpsych.net.
- Can help find volunteering opportunities throughout London
- Help out with the formal/fundraiser to be held second semester

- If you want to help plan events such as the annual Wine and Cheese, e-mail wpaexec@westernpsych.net to sign up!
Major Events
First Term:
October 22nd
- Social Science is hosting a course on applying to graduate school
- location: SSC 9420 (the dean's office) from 12:30-1:30 pm
November (date TBA): Our Annual Wine and Cheese!
- We encourage all the members to come out and mingle with their fellow undergraduate students, professors and graduate students.
- Nominations for prof of the year will be excepted starting 2 weeks prior to the event. A reminder e-mail will be sent out to members!
December: Gift Wrap
- Going to St. Joseph’s hospital to wrap gifts as needed.
- Afterwards, members get a tour of the psych ward
- A great de-stressor from exams
Second Term
Grad Night/Career Night
- Want to learn more about applying to grad school or what to do if you don't want to go onto grad school? These events can help!
Thesis Night
- Worried about the 4th year thesis? This information night can provide valuable information
